Nellie absolutely hates the BBQ grill. One time when I had her tied out ( when I was on crutches) so she could go potty, she somehow got her line around the bottom of the grill and it fell over and then somehow the lid got hung up and she ran with it following behind her. She has never recovered from that and barks at it from both outside and from inside when the mood strikes, which is everytime she goes out the door and if I go near the grill…
Nellie just turned 8 months. She spends these hot days laying over the vent when the AC is on…
Smart puppy!
She really is. I have to put a chair over it come noon or the AC will not stop. The minute she hears it come on she runs for the vent.
Nellie is 10 months old now and I thought I would share a few pictures 
She has turned out to be everything I wanted and so much more. She is loyal and protective of the goats and excellent with the horses, cows and chickens.
I haven’t tried her with the barn cats yet… They are safe in the barn loft with the only access securely gated. Best to let some things be for now and I will start her with them in a few weeks.
She gets along so good with our other 2 dogs and they have so much fun. She also willingly submits to the Mini Aussie as top dog which seems so silly since Nellie is 3x her size.
She is easily the biggest dog we have had and while I have no idea what she weighs, it is more than I can pick up 
She also comes when I call, stays close to the house and I never worry about where she might be and that is a good thing. She likes to be close to her people.

We have always been blessed with good dogs, so I never worried she wouldn’t be but you know there is a first time for everything 
Just glad she wasn’t my first.
My daughter took these this morning while I was in the barn loft dismantling my kitten enclosure ( took me 2 hours!!)
Nellie will be 1 on Oct 8th. I honestly don’t know where the time went and I cannot imagine my life without her. She is that special to me.
I wish she would eat more, she is so lean!! 4 cups kibble a day is her max with added chicken or other meat. I am sure I will be back wishing she didn’t eat so much in another year
