Fire Ants

I use extinguish bait. It’s approved for use in cattle pastures. You can get a large bag for a decent price. The best is to spread the bait all over the pasture, but the dose is so low you can’t do it with a pull behind spreader, you have to use a hand spreader. I tried that once but now I just treat the mounds.

Fire ants build mounds in areas where soil is found in any type of soil. Problem with fire ants might have solves. I am looking something related. Because I am also facing the same problem with Fire ants in my garden area.

I’m glad people are discussing this scourge with the gravity it deserves.

Diatomaseous Earth sprinkled generously over the whole mound WILL kill them!! I often run over the mound with my mower…THEN put the DE on the whole area. A few nights ago I kicked a board laying on the ground near our work shop…those SOB ants went up my legs to my waist in about 60 seconds…I ran to the house…shedding pants, socks…whatever and treated my MANY bites…a week later I still have sores and pustules all over my legs…but when I stopped itching like mad…I went back and covered the area with DE…next day when I checked the whole hill was covered with dead ants…NO live ones have returned!! It DOES kill them!!
