Floridian in Colorado - Winter is Coming
THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE!

I will be taking your advice to heart and local peeps…hitting up those Castle Rock outlets!

For shoes, I can’t really wear the artic muck boots because I have to drive this ancient tractor with a really tough clutch and I need more ankle flexion than wellie type boots can provide.

Does anyone do barn chores (especially in deep snow) in Sorel boots? They’re pricey, but I’m looking at the Sorel Caribou.
I love Sorels and they come in pretty colors and styles too. They are super warm and very durable. I have a pair. My relative in Fairbanks, Alaska (that means very, very cold) always buys Sorels because they are so comfy, warm, and durable. I just looked at their website and sadly, don’t see the fun colors they had a few years ago (pink Caribous), which is a shame.

One caveat: if you are regularly working in very deep snow, I would look for taller boots than the Caribous. And use snow pants or something with an elastic cuff over the boot.

For the jacket: If fashion is no issue and warmth and comfort is what you want, consider a good coverall. It zips up right over your clothes, keeps the snow out, is super comfy, keeps your clothes clean, and is very warm. The Army Surplus used to have them and they were fabulous. International Orange. A snowmobile suit might work, but some of them are more fitted (and fashionable) and you must wear lighter garments only, like long underwear, underneath.
