foal halter

I know this has been discussed already but I can’t find the thread. I have about four different sizes of foal halters and none of them fit my filly well enough to look decent in inspections photos two weeks from now. The problem I seem to have is the piece of leather underneath the head that connects the noseband to the jawband is too long with a big brass ring connector at the noseband end. Even when I have the noseband and crown buckle pretty tight that bottom piece is too long.

Where did you all get your halters??

QUILLIN.

All of the ones I have already are:(

I purchased a yearling Arabian halter with a rolled nose band for my warmblood babies. The arabian halters are size a lot smaller for those refined heads. This is the one I purchased, it has a LOT of adjustment.

OR
I Just take the halter off.

Try calling Quillin to see if they will custom a halter for you, or alter the one you already have. Bet they will…

I had to add holes to my quillin halter but then it fit fine.

Pinkston’s turf goods in Lexington. They ship. I really like their halters, a lot of different sizes and really nice quality. I use the two year old sale halters on all my grown horses and the weanling /yearling fit really nicely.

Tack Shack Ocala. I purchased a nice english chin foal halter from them that fits my foals with small heads very well. Otherwise I have a Quillin one that is also english chin that works on the ones a bit bigger .
