That’s pretty tempting. Lol.

Lol do it.

Is this a random facebook “friend” or someone you actually know has experience with horses?

She’s someone I know from when I used to work in Extension/4-H. She has horse experience, but it was decades ago. Nice lady, but a bit much sometimes.

Arielle is at 365 days today, and still nothing much happening, though her belly dropped even MORE overnight (didn’t think that was possible!), and the left side of her udder is finally starting to catch up with the right. I don’t see her going before the weekend at this point, unless something dramatic happens between now and then. I have to go present awards to members of our local Quarter Horse club on Saturday afternoon/evening, so let’s hope she doesn’t pick that as “go” time. Would be just my luck!

I’m getting exhausted just following you and Arielle’s progress. Comeon, girl, let us meet your little one!

My mare, Gracie, is officially over a year… 366 days :weary: Another mare foaled on the farm night before last, so I am hoping that will get Gracie moving along. #ReleaseTheChild

@Trak_Eventer, Arielle is also 366 days today! I think we should start a COTH betting pool on which of our mares will finally give it up first.

My friend’s granddaughter has been holding on for an uncomfortable-for-Mom couple weeks, but finally made her appearance last night (very quickly!) And one of my college teammates gave birth Tues night.
So, hoping to send some birthing vibes for you 360+ days gals! The best I can do…

It is supposed to rain this weekend, so maybe?

pH has started dropping and milk dripping. :crossed_fingers:t2: Tonight or tomorrow night! Day 367 now.

Congrats, @Trak_Eventer! Looks like you’re going to win the race. Arielle is still in a holding pattern - six weeks and counting since she made any significant progress.

Fingers crossed for you, @Trak_Eventer!

Jaz continues to blow up overnight, and dwindle during the day. No wax. She is really tough to get a milk sample, she allows her udder touched but she is not a fan of milking. So she may be very close, or she may not. Probably not in the next 24-48hrs but you never know.

Barb and her colt are doing great. I’m quite impressed with the St Patrick’s Day foals so far, very smart and good looking. Honestly happy with all the foals, aside from the Khozans…though I have to say Jaws was a gentleman for the farrier this week, so maybe he’s coming around!

So after 45 minutes of tail brushing, currying, pampering, and udder positive reinforcement, Jaz let me get a small milk sample tonight with help.of a twitch.

And there is definite progress. She is in the milky lemonade stage, with a pH around 6.8 and her colostrum reads about 24 on the Brix scale. I doubt she will go tonight, but it could be before Monday.

pH on one side was low last night and a bit high on the other. Dropped to low on both overnight. Still holding! Day 368…

Still holding at day 368 here, too. I just can’t believe that this udder is still showing a pH hovering in the high 7s/low 8s:

Today is her birthday; maybe she just didn’t want to share “her” spotlight. Lol. The woman I bought Arielle from bred seven mares last year. Five of them have foaled, including one last night who was bred 35 days AFTER Arielle. The only other one left to go was bred 40 days after Arielle; if that one also goes before she does, I think I’ll cry from frustration.

If it’s not too much to ask… anyone have any updated foal photos? Pretty please?

Thought I’d share my foal pic here as well as I’ve been following this thread but when my guy was first born I wasn’t sure he’d make it. He’s doing well now and I must say I’m jealous how green it is elsewhere in every one else’s pictures!

I need to get the camera out for some real pics, but here are a few snapshots of Lee, Magic’s filly, and Barb’s SPD colt.
