Foregirth

I am wanting to try a foregirth or a foregirth pad for a pony who has a saddle that ends up on his shoulders after canter work. A saddle fitter has been consulted, and I am not planning on this as a long-term solution. Does anyone know where you can buy a foregirth or foregirth pad?

What about a crupper?

Yes, I believe I may have to go that route.

I found mine on eBay Worked with one saddle, not the other one. Ended up with an anatomical girth and a pad with shims to keep the saddle in place. My horse has a long back so the foregirth didn’t put the saddle back on her kidneys. I would think unless the pony has a really long back that the saddle may be pushed too far back. Crupper may be the better option Just my limited experience talking

I’m finding foregirths listed on Google (search “Forgirths for Dressage”) and go to the 2nd and 3rd pages and beyond. Keiffer and others – one that makes custom foregirths.

Would a saddle with a point billet help?
