FoxHunting being Encouraged?

There’s a reason why the titular character in the Disney version of Robin Hood is an anthrophomorphic fox. They’re wicked smart. I’ve seen one sitting on top of a round bale watching the hounds below search for it. I’ve watched as the outriders & then the hounds streaked past in a NE direction, only for the fox to amble out of the woods, pretty much wink at me, & head SW.

Reputible hunts don’t kill the fox. Nor do they want to.

Agreed. “Sly as a fox” is a simile for a good reason.

Have you ever seen the video from that lobster fisherman on Instagram? Finds a mature female while sorting their catch. He gives an informative schpel to the camera; demonstrating how they determine which lobsters they take & which need to be put back, & how they notch their tails as an indication to others who might catch the lobster in the future. As he’s getting ready to toss her back into the water, he holds a bait fish up “We’ll just give her a snack for the road,” & damned if her timing snatching the fish from him isn’t so perfect that you’d think the two of them pre-choreographed it! I must’ve watched it 15 times in a row
