Fredericks and Equine Canada are parting ways

Those are the financials up to March 2016 and pre-dating the exit of the previous controller.

None have been issued since. They are supposed to come out monthly or quarterly, I can’t remember which. Certainly someone can chime in[/QUOTE]

They should be produced monthly for the Board (and Finance Committee - which I believe may still exist). The membership never received financials until audited (so annually - would expect within 6 months of year end, so by end of September 2017 we would expect financials for 12 months ended March 31, 2017 )

The problem is they haven’t been provided to the board (that I’ve been able to find out), the provincial organizations or the sport specific committees. Not provided in meetings, communications or responding to direct request.

What horses did EC buy and why only a 4 yr life span for usefulness?

The “useful life” of an asset is usually dictated by the taxing authority.

I don’t disagree with the fact it sounds like they’ve had no financials results since the resignation of Mike Arbour, I am saying they typically are only posted annually for “public” viewing.
Even when Mike was there, the sport specific committees did not have huge visibility to the results - they were held very closely by staff. I am not sure how much visibility the PTSOs had - they had representation on Finance Committee so saw them there, but typically they couldn’t be shared beyond that and I am not sure what reports were given to Provinces Council…
The Board/Finance Committee both got them monthly when Mike Arbour was there.

I believe it was a dressage horse for a Para rider.

I’ve mentioned this here many times: the legal way in which EC is organized means that EC only has to make very limited disclosures of financials. This is why most of the ‘financials’ you can access are useless and EC is not required by law to provide anything else.
