French Saddle recommendations and suggestions please!! UPDATE #55 decision made!
I humbly take back my slightly off putting CWD comment.

Yep, just an update on my stupid comment too. I sat in the 2G… I don’t care if where it’s made, Morocco, Jupiter, Mars… it’s the BEST saddle I have ever ridden in. My sensitive TB moved out more, felt like a different horse, and jumped better. Even if I can’t get this saddle, I am going to rave to everyone about it.

That is all. Had to right my wrong!
Yeah the 2G was amazing…I LOVED the seat, but hated the ridgidity of the flaps. However, if I had unlimited money I would buy it hands down for the hack horse.

I just found this thread so if I repeat anything I apologize first. I have a L’Apogee jump saddle that I love. I have owned it for several years and have never had a problem with the saddle or the service.
I would give them a call if you have not bought a saddle yet.

Thanks Ivy62 - I bought a Bruno Delgrange, but had a great experience researching the different brands and trying out a few.

L’Apogee and Voltaires were on the list to try, however not easily accessible in my area.

Although my saddle hasn’t been delivered yet, I was very happy with the demo ride.

Good luck the Delgrange. They are very nice. I really liked their dressage saddles as I already have a jump saddle I love… Just out of my price range… Super expensive…
L’Apogee is only in Va… They do not have stores or outside reps, Which I really liked. Kitty sends you everything and helps you with fit and such…
Which saddle did you buy?

I feel weird surfacing this very old thread, but does anyone know if Vincent does repairs or just sales evaluations? He has been recommended to me as a saddle fitter for an existing saddle that has gone crooked. I am just wondering whether he can do the repair work himself and what his training is. Googling his name pulled up this thread. Thanks all!

Another late vote for Delgrange - mine is the Partition with calf knee and seat, but grain flaps. I bought it in 2014, and test rode many brands. Fits many horses (TBs, Warmbloods, the odd pony I ride…), although I do use a shim pad on some. The balance is just…there. Can’t describe it, but I knew it when I sat in it. Customer service was top notch, and the saddle is wearing like iron. It gets nicer every year. Love.

I ended up booting the delgrange and going back to devoucoux. The delgrange was very well made and fit the horses well but after going through 2 new ones neither compared to the demo one. Now I just have a few Biarritz saddles…my bum is happy and because I’ve now got 5 horses they all seem to fit into at least one of the saddles.
