Furstenball - question about his offspring
Any posters here know any of these uber-super-duper-premium foals? Or other such Furstenball foals in Europe?
I have not seen Furstenball foals in person. A friend in my area is using him this year, and I will see that foal when it arrives, but that is a year away.

We have bred three Fuerstenball foal’s…well number three is due in a couple weeks. No problems with pasterns. Excellent legs, very nice gaits and great minds. Oldest in pictured above and is coming three. She has a Premium GOV Foal and Foal of Distinction.

Fuerstenball/Espri colt from 2012. Also a Premium Foal.

Have seen quite a few foals in Germany. Have not seen any with weak pasterns. But agree, that it is a valid concerm and I for sure would not breed Fuerstenball to a mare that had weak pasterns herself.

Glad Nancy (Crosiadore) popped in here - I knew she had foals by Furstenball, and had no doubt seen a bunch in Germany.

I have only seen (in person) 2 Furstenballs, a yearling and weanling. They had superb long limbs of light-medium bone. The pasterns were correspondingly long and refined but not overly angled even when moving.

My Don Kennedy - Argentinus mare Olivia just gave us a gorgeous black Furstenball filly April 6. Olivia caught on one dose of frozen semen. Filly looks great, no problems with the pasterns.

Congratulations! I hope you’ll post more pictures when he unfolds!

Tveley - please keep us posted with pics. You have a wonderful line up of foals this year and I’s love to see how they develop.

No problem! I would love to post more photos as they develop. We do have some fabulous foals this year.

I hope we are as fortunate with our breeding for 2014! If all goes as planned I should have foals from:

Christ x Quinoa (Quaterback)
Dante Weltino x Tirana (French Kiss)
Cunningham x Wynona (Cacique)
Cunningham x Xanadu (Araconit)
Calido I x Lalique (Campesino)
For Romance x Donnabelle (Donnerhall)
Wynton x Tettiana (Plaisir d’Amour)
Furstenball x Olivia (Don Kennedy)
Ampere x Preference (Jonggor’s Weyden)
Totilas x Saraya (Sarkozy) (foal already sold, custom breeding)

Oooh I look forward to seeing a Christ/QB - very nice! Ampere is another stallion I’m keen to use. Lovely stuff Tricia!

I have 2 Ampere x Preference foals already, a 2011 colt and a 2013 filly. Both are EXCELLENT. This one will be our third one of this cross. Why mess with an excellent combination?

I would like to hear an update on this thread. Any exceptional three year olds by Furstenball ready to step out and show themselves? Strengths? Weaknesses?
My thread seems to have been kinda/sorta hijacked. I already knew there were a bunch of foals born in NA and took that to mean that his semen is not… ahem… a wad of microscopic spermatozoa swimming zombies.

Any posters here know any of these uber-super-duper-premium foals? Or other such Furstenball foals in Europe? He definitely seems to be producing many gorgeous offspring, but I’d still like to hear about their pasterns from those who’ve seen them in the flesh. I openly admit to not having a particularly educated eye in terms of conformation, much less from looking at pictures and videos, so I’d love to hear from others who have or have seen his offspring.
Hijacking was not the intent Catzndogz22… I was merely trying to be inclusive so more could be added to what has already been said…so sorry if that offended in any way.

I think there is considerable praise for the stallion as well as the criticisms…so let’s share our thoughts rather than claiming ownership. lol

I have seen a small handful of Furstenball offspring in the flesh from a range of Hanoverian mares. NONE have lax pasterns. All seem to be tall and elegant, have really lovely walks, and good natures. None are under saddle yet though.

There are some 3/4 year olds under saddle. And yes, some of them have the slightly lax pasterns. I have seen several offspring in the flesh and some have super legs, others are a bit more lax in the pasterns. Just something to take into consideration when breeding to him. Definitely a superb stallion however! Also, something to keep in mind is that lax pasterns can be springy . . certainly we don’t want upright, short pasterns! So, it’s just a balance

Here is Follow Me (champion Oldenburg stallion from last year) under saddle (and yes I think these pasterns are similar to Furstenball’s - they are a bit lax, he is 4 years old and only doing a “big trot” - not collecting or taking lots of weight behind, yet the hind pasterns absorb a lot) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n3vyLSqOwg&feature=c4-overview&list=UUX_dCnG1qdS7qvnBkG4pGaw

Here is a coming 4 year old Furstenball x Sandro Hit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAGRy0ola28#t=15

2.5 year old stallion (approved) Furstenball x Rohdiamant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pfAb84Oa4A

Follow Me is a Wow!

At the end of the day, you must pick those bloodlines you believe in and like to ride (-: Florestan/Donnerhall/Rubinstein/Gribaldi/Landadel and a couple others work for me…the rest …well I may dabble outside those few for the right stallion but…have two professional riders I employ and they agree with theses standards so will stick with what I know.

Also find it interesting that those that have yet to breed to “said” stallion have so many opinions. If I have not bred to a stallion I would not comment.

Thought I’d share the under saddle video of this super boy from Furstenball. Finest (Furstenball x Wie Weltmeyer) barely 3 years old. And looks to me like a super young stallion. Also, correct in the pasterns from what I can tell. I love this boy!
