I think it is particularly poor taste to imply that a decision made by a horse owner might be responsible for this sad occurence. Gomez’s last ride on Beholder took place in April 2013. That “last straw” was apparently a long time in coming.

I seem to remember him coming off a horse in post parade and getting badly hurt around the time that he decided to hang it up.
