Re: the page numbers: enter a number in the box and hit enter. Does that work?

Related threads are a no go on this version of the software, but COTH has submitted a request to vBulletin for that to be brought back.

ahh - there’s the stuff I’m looking for. Okay. I’m glad that function still exists but why can’t it be front and center like last time? Petition to move that back to Obviousville, pls?

Well, that’s the box I’m talking about - that ribbon – it’s cumbersome to have to shift/move everything, find the tiny box, type the number - and you know when I’m on COTH it’s dark and really late and I probably should be in bed and finding the number 7 on my keyboard is like trying to find your cat when it’s time to go to the vet… I miss having the numbered page buttons up top/bottom - like at the top of the thread - where I can just click and go instead of having to click, type in a number, etc. I’m bad about efficiency like that. I don’t care for the ribbon, but I appreciate that it’s there. Kind of like fine china - I don’t want to use it but it’s nice to look at.

Also, half the time that box/ribbon is really slow - meaning I highlight “1” to delete it and type in page 8, and it unselects itself (rude!) – or, I go to backspace/delete the 1 and it hasn’t loaded completely yet and I backspace myself back a page on the browser. I know it’s not my computer because it’s happened to me on several different computers, all with varying types of (good) connection.

Speaking of numbered pages - it’d be really nice to have page numbers back when on the forum - and also, can we petition to bring back who started the thread (aka thread author) on the mobile format? There are some posters I just will not click a thread of - it’s part of my PPE of a thread – and I’d rather not be tricked into opening something I know is a waste of my time.

If you MUST have a white background, do not have light green type for topics and poster’s names. I am having a very hard time reading and may give up. Would a darker green type be so bad? Some of us are older and do not have the eyes of young graphic designers. Please.

Would love to have a larger font size. I am on the mobile site using Safari. Also really found the page numbers in a thread useful. Would also love to have the “related threads” back. Please and thank you!

Thank you for this heads-up. You see I wasn’t aware of any planned demise of the premium membership (why did none of us premium members warrant an email from COTH on this fact?), which was paid only this past December. I did notice my profile no longer said anything about my premium membership, but thought it was a “new website development” oversight. I’ve heard nothing on any refund…and honestly wasn’t happy to have to do a search on this thread to find this information. Would love a Mod to contact me personally, or at least reply to this post, with info regarding the premium membership…? I would very much appreciate it.

First I heard about the demise of the premium membership was here on this thread as well. I can’t remember when mine re-upped, but does seem like it was recent.

The font size isn’t bothering me too much now but I’m still finding the background color to be a little too bright white for me. But it is MUCH better than at first launch of the new site. The responsiveness to concerns expressed on these feedback threads has been impressive and much appreciated.

Tazy, please google how to take a screenshot. Your photos of your screens are really hard to read clearly, which makes it difficult for anyone to help you.

I’m noticing that it seems to be easier for spammers to sign up and spam the boards. Either that, or because I’m on more often I’m just noticing it more? But it really seems like there are a LOT of spammers lately compared to just before the switchover. Developers might want to look at bumping up the capcha or whatever they use to try to deter spambots during registration.

@Moderator 1 For colors, I wish the background were not quite so white. I seem to remember a cream/yellow background in the past which was easy on the eyes.

For people complaining about the speed, it will get faster when the hamster-techs aren’t working on all the little tweaks (that we’re requesting) in the background.

I do hate the ads between posts. I know you’ve got to have revenue, but I liked the smaller side-bar better.

I also wish the background was easier on the eyes. I have good eyesight, but I can not stay on the site too long without getting a headache.

I also miss being able to jump to a page # from the main "Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Eventing forums. Now I have to click on the thread and then type in the page #; I find this cumbersome.

This is what my screen looks like and it’s very hard on my eyes and if I stay on the site to long I get a headache.

I just miss the old site where I could click on todays posts, and everything popped up. Not a fan of the bright white either.

Did you try the “today’s posts” and “today’s topics” links at the top?

I also vote for a change in the color. Perhaps the size of the font would not be so hard to read if the new forum was the same colors of the old forum? I belong to another BB which gives us all a choice of 3 different color schemes…

I have read through most the posts and I don’t think that my major wish has been expressed: the check mark which shows which thread you have posted on. Right now there is a thread which is not very popular, so I do not go on it every day. It often slips to P 2 or 3 before getting another post. The check mark allows me to skim 2 - 3 pages and find it quickly. I really miss me ye olde check mark.

Another mark which was also on the old forum and I have never know why it existed: the paper clip. There seems no rhyme or reason for it, but there it is, after the name of some threads.

I subscribe to COTH and I do not have ads in the middle of the posts.

PS: The “post a picture feature” has a real problem. Since I clicked on it to see if it was working, it would not let me post until I had included a picture. So I did (my doggie). I still got a “you cannot post until you submit at lease one picture.” So I deleted the whole post and copied/pasted the one above.

It’s there–look for the wee green left arrow in the paper icon directly to the left of the thread. Unless you’re talking about the mobile version? Several things are absent from the mobile version, presumably to save space…

I tried reading through these pages but haven’t found the answer…where is the SEARCH feature?

If you decide not to add one you just need to click the x on the right side of the area that pops up for choosing the photo. Once that area goes away it will let you post without adding a photo. (Not sure why it wouldn’t take your dog photo though, maybe physical or file size limits?)

The background is still TOO BRIGHT! Please fix! How about lose the white and do a beige background?

I don’t know if this has been mentioned, but is there are more advanced search feature somewhere that I’ve missed? I can only see the one on the right side, under “enter email for newsletter”. The search is so generic,its bringing up topics from like 08 when I search.
