A mohair cinch.
Only time I’ve ever gotten galls is when I try to use neoprene or some other magical non-mohair cinch.

I have one on order.
When I bought her, they were riding with a mohair girth and it had galled the crap out of her, so my hopes are low.
Are you sure it was 100% mohair?
I tried a synthetic one time trying to save money, and it didn’t work for my horse.
They looked the same, but one was cheaper than the other.
That’s a good point, I have no clue. The one I ordered is actual mohair.
Next up - what’s the best way to clean those things?
Warm, not hot, water in a bucket with horse shampoo or Woolite. Hang to dry.
I’m sure you already know this but a new mohair cinch will stretch, as a newly cleaned one will a little as well. Check your cinch as you ride more often than usual.
I hope it works for you.
Well crap. She has such little wiggle room there that the 26" is the sweet spot. Hopefully it doesn’t over-stretch, else I’ll have to get a 24".
I’ve had a straight leather cinch for years and it’s still going strong (or was the last time I rode with it a couple of years ago). None of the horses I used it on had a problem with it, though my mare didn’t feel happy the couple of times I used a neoprene cinch, and switched back to the leather one right away. It surely shouldn’t be too hard to find a leather cinch?
Is yours padded at all? Or like a flank cinch?
Do you remember where you got it?
I know you’ve tried wider, and more padding, but maybe it’s worth a shot to go the other way, and try something narrower, especially since she’s on the smaller side? If she’s just not got a lot of room, maybe that would help?
Minimal padding, but definitely more than a back cinch. Honestly, I can’t remember where I bought it, it likely came with the saddle (a Circle Y made one of the last years the leather was really good), which I bought here in Canada back in the 90’s. It looks a bit like the leather one posted earlier by @Training_Cupid. Unfortunately it’s not handy to grab for a picture.
The TSF one is narrow and anatomical. That’s what called her last. It’s right at her elbow.
I can try and find something more narrow, not sure what brands sell narrower than “standard.”
Here’s pictures of the galls from today. She got the day off, so this is actually from a day or two ago. The goo residue is gall salve, these have no broken skin. I catch them as early as I can.
My index finger is on the point of her elbow.
Looking at the pictures, part of your problem might be the cinch is sitting too far forward. Either your saddle needs to be set a bit farther back or the rigging isn’t right for your pony.
A shot of the TSF girth. It was ok for several rides before it galled, and seems to give tons of room behind the elbow. Also a shot of the saddle in general, and where I know it doesn’t fit right - the front shape seems ok, but the back part is too flat. It sticks out some instead of wrapping around.
I added some pics of the saddle and the TSF girth.
Do you have any pictures of her standing relatively square saddled? I’m not seeing anything useful in the first picture and the second leaves me with more questions.
Looking at those pics, saddle fit or placement is the problem. Does the saddle run up onto her shoulders while you’re gyping her around or is that where you’re placing it?
Every saddle rides up on her.
With the new girth i dont at this second, but can get some tomorrow.
