I have all the gloves I need…if I could only remember to put them on! Actually during formal season, I remember because my hands are cold, but during cubbing season I’ve been known to forget
Ironically - I buy my gloves at the feed store. They are much tougher than gloves sold for riding and require less care. (cue dueling banjo music)
I save my fancy brown gloves for high holy days. I have worn string gloves in wet weather (and been very grateful for them as wet leather is slippery!) But there are modern materials that work well too, and if you prefer those to string then go for it.
Oh - I buy my string gloves at the feed store too. (banjo music again…)
Buy whatever is customary for your club and what makes you comfortable - and what fits your budget, too.
Then off I go to Tractor Supply after work! It is right near Sams Club and Walmart so I can buy dinner, get prescriptions, and do all sorts of multi-tasking. Fingers crossed they have decent gloves that will fit me. I can reach a full octave on the piano so I have big hands for a coughcough lady.
PS-I got a man’s cubbing coat on eBay for a steal, and it should fit me.
Life is good!
It’s easier to get those gloves like JSwan’s in men’s sizing. The farm supply stores assume that we ladies have brawny farm help.
