Good Quality Hunt Bridle-Need Advise...

I looked at their catalog, downloadable from their web site. They list a Utah dealer but I know that dealer doesn’t really have any SW items, and I was in a hurry! So I emailed SW direct, they emailed me back a day or two later with a phone number to call, and I ordered by phone. Bridle color Havana- I ordered the horse size, narrower caveson and reins, $146 and had them throw in a curb rein to match, in case I want to put the pelham on that bridle. I think Ruth was the name of the person I dealt with, very friendly and agreed I wouldn’t find SW products in the Utah store! She shipped it out that day, ground, and I got it exactly the day she figured it would arrive.

Tomorrow I’ll take photos and share them here of my Bartville bridle and sandwich case which arrived today. I’m pleased as punch with both products! The bridle leather is a nice dark havanna and it is soft to the touch on the finished side and the side next to the horse.

The sandwich case is the same color and made just as nicely.

It’s wonderful to have found an American made product which is just as nice as similiar style imported goods.

Great, I’d love to see the photos.

I called and left a message for them to send a catalog a couple of weeks ago and still have not seen anything in the mail.

They called me back last week on another question and told me they were doing a new catalog and it would be a month or so before it came out. But I think it is well worth the weat!

Here are photos of Bartville items: http://pets.webshots.com/album/556072783EibnJg?start=12

First, I used flash because I was inside and the tack does not have a cheap shine to it in person. It will be Friday before I can take any photos outside. The sandwich case ($72)is first and in one shot I put my 5ox flask in to give you a sense of size. The last 3 or 4 photos are of the hunt bridle ($86). Levi at Bartville combined parts from a cob size w/ parts from a horse size to give me the perfect fit.

The catalogs will be ready March 1. I suspect they’ll get them out in the mail within days of picking them up.

I did not order the reins because I wanted to see if I liked the bridle. I do like the bridle and will now order 3/4" laced reins.

Anyway, enjoy and I hope the photos help you make comparisons.

A very nice looking bridle… we have a local Amish shop here, but the bridles are double the price as the ones at Bartville…I will have to go back through this thread and find contact info and/or directions!

Good work, and thanks for posting pics!

the bridle is gorgeous!

Thanks! The bridle got two thumbs up hunting today. All of the buckles are “roller buckles” and sturdy. In the house they looked oversized to my eye but once on my mares head they looked fine and in proportion. Also, they were a cinch to adjust!!

I lined the inside of the sandwich case w/ some chamois colored ultra suede leftover from kiddos Rodeo Queening days. The lining cuts down on the “clunk, clunk” noise from things inside the case. I’m pleased as punch and looking forward to the catalog.
