I’m paying over $20 for 50 lb bales of Timothy or O/A mix. Straight alfalfa is a bit cheaper per lb.
Premium feeds are pretty expensive too. Ultium Gastric Care or TC Sr Gold run $30 for a 50 lb bag. The TC Gold Balancer is around $45.
Locally grown hay is of course cheaper. $12 per 50 lb bale at Tractor Supply and cheaper direct from farmer.
I’ve been buying some T/A cubes recently but I’ll have to check the receipt for the cost. I try not to think about that too much lol.
On topic, my current horse eats “grain” twice a day. He only gets a RB so that could be fed all at once but he needs his sweating supplements twice a day in season. So for me a facility that only fed once a day would not be acceptable to me. Moot point as he lives at home with me.
