Grain Shortage

There was a feed promotion last week at TSC. My friend called to tell me. She said you could buy 4 bags, get one free. So that sale might be the reason stores are momentarily short of feed.

I have a local mill mix up a grain recipe of oats and cracked corn, soybean meal for us, so there is no shortage of feed for our horses.

I would go with strategy healthy edge, NSC is 16%, pelleted feed thats super palatable. Mostly beet pulp but has enough fat for the moderate keepers.

Nope. My local feed store has maintained a good stock. I bought an extra 2 bags of the TV Lite I feed, but that’s an extra month for me. I’ll probably maintain that pad for the next few months, but I’m holding off on buying a palate at a time because I’m not trying to get mice, abs rats, and their fleas, and the plague, and nostalgic for back when it was just COVID-19.

My feed store said their supply would not change. They sent an email asking everyone not to buy more than they usually buy. That is where a lot of the problem is coming from. The panic buyers. They cause a cascade which makes the non panic buyers panic. It’s one thing to be prepared, it’s another to be selfish, as seen with the ridiculous toilet paper buy out.
