the NBC website is super confusing to navigate. here is the direct link:
http://stream.nbcolympics.com/equestrian-dressage-grand-prix-day-1-morning?test=1

you need to log into your cable provider for full access – IIRC, no log-in is only 30m.

I am using Playstation Vue - I used SO’s PSN and signed up for a free trial of their services. No adds and great quality.

So, I’m on the FEI site right now, following the live scores, and the Canadian Megan Lane and her equine partner, Caravella, scored a 71.300%. This is going to sound like an unbelievably stupid question, but is this a decent score? And is this score a cumulative average of the judges scores?

Thanks ahead in advance. I have a basic understanding of dressage and the movements, not necessarily scoring.

If anybody is using a VPN, you can watch live at this link (it’s in Dutch but at least you can see it!): http://nos.nl/rio2016/

On the right of the video screen is a list of sports, so scroll until you see the horse symbol/“paardensport dressuur”

Rosevelt, flying changes (19) – nothing higher than 6.5 - why? Train my eye 0 was it the last delayed change?

He was late on one. It would depend on where the judge was.

Thank you! I saw the slightly late one, but was surprised it would bring it all the way down to a 4? The others were good, I thought.

I love the live scoring – it is so, so valuable for a dressage peon like me

I assume “palestine” is really “israel”, right?

I can’t seem to get it. I have satellite internet on the farm and maybe I just don’t have enough for it to stream

Not to get political, but the Palestinian territories have a separate Olympic team from Israel. Zimmermann has Palestinian citizenship (Palestine being recognized as a separate country by just about every nation except the USA) so he is competing for that team.

i would say that is a very good score, at least at that level. i don’t know what the exact average is but imagine it’s in the upper sixties.

eta: missed the second, yes, it’s an avg of all the judge scores.

I love Yvonne Losos de Muniz’ shadbelly. Very classy white piping.

Thank you for your response!

Thank you so much!

It’s a solid score. The winning scores will be upper 70s to low 80s most likely.

For Canucks disappointed that CBC aren’t live-streaming the dressage - you can email, phone, or ask them via their Olympics fb page:

The squeaky wheel, and all that, right!

Jimmie Choo Seq :love-struck:

love his extended everything…

The Brazilian team are all on Brazilian-bred Lusitanos (for dressage anyway), I think that’s really cool. I wish more countries took pride in their breeding programs.

Thanks. Didn’t mean to be political. Just goes to show that all ethnicities can come from anywhere. Zimmerman has a European name, so I just assumed israel.

My NBC app only says coming soon :(:frowning:
