Grand Prix dressage live streaming
I was watching on my NBCSports link, and about two hours ago, for no apparent reason, they switched off into the Spanish version! Someone mentioned this yesterday but it was quite an extended period. Hope they get that fixed.
Can’t you use that little button at the bottom to switch back to English? That worked for me during the eventing.

lol I remember mentioning it to someone during the eventing portion. But I hadn’t just tuned in, I was watching, it was silent, and suddenly it was in Spanish! I would have freaked out more if I was as into Dressage as eventing, but I am not… But I am sort of wondering what to do if that happens during the freestyle. If it happens again tomorrow, I will hunt more diligently for an answer.

Absolutely loved Fiona Bigwood’s horse Orthilia! So soft and beautiful. I enjoyed Juliette Rimmel’s ride very much too.

I have to say though, I was cheering during Kasey’s ride! Those tempis looked effortless. I can’t believe Ed Gal placed higher than her, and I’m a Gal fan.

Gal’s ride was just blah …

Mine switched to Spanish as I was watching, or maybe it was after a commercial, so I just hunted around clicking on icons until I discovered the language switch. I wouldn’t worry about if it happens during a free style, probably just click on the icon and it will change.

Not Gal’s best ride. It didn’t have any umph!

Gal had withdrawn from showing as recently as June citing that Voice was not quite fit enough, having just recovered from an injury. I think the Dutch team in general just wound up a bit off as far as having strong pairings peak in the right time for this Olympics. I seem to remember talk of retiring Parci before, but I think as they saw that no one else was quite as ready, they pulled what cards they had.

I do wish it could have been Edward on Zonik!

Yeah. It is surprising for him. I wondering if some horses are having trouble with the weather. It seems it’s normally pretty humid there, but today it was cooler and almost rainy. Maybe it set off some horses.

It’s nice to feel like nothing is set in stone and we may have some excitement! )I do love Gal, though.)

To De Hoefslag Gal remarked that he rode conservatively knowing that Parzival was out. He said the Dutch team was not able to afford any mistakes and that his horse felt capable of more.

The replay is now available on the NBC site.

I was just trying to catch a few that I missed and notice that the Russian horse, Ramoneur, had some interesting shoes behind and wondered if anyone else noticed or could explain what they are. The closest I could find searching google images is an eggbar rolling shoe with center support. Similar to the mid pict on the link. I have heard that riders sometimes like to shoe differently with the geotextile footing and was wondering how this kind of shoe might fit into that purpose.

Guys, it’s starting!! Go Belinda, go Canada!!

Order of go for reference: https://www.rio2016.com/en/equestrian-dressage-individual-grand-prix-day-2

Good ride for Canada.

Thank you for the CBC link (one would think the national association would be mass emailing its members about when and where to access…) but there doesn"t seem to be anything there this morning. Marks?

(I’m streaming through the app right now.)

Edit: Can someone please shut up that unhappy baby?? :frowning:

There’s some baby screaming in the background of the live stream.

Really nice ride by the Spaniard, Lopez!

Is BBC streaming the dressage live today? I can’t find it right now. I got in via a proxy and was able to replay yesterday’s dressage…

Seriously, his horse Lorenzo is one of my favorite horses.
