Poor Carl, horse looked very tense and spooky in the trot work. Glad he saved the ride in the canter tour.
Glad we don’t have commentary… and no screaming baby!!

The camera angles are making it really hard to see some things. I haven’t seem one back up.
Carl and Nip Tuck seemed like Gal and Voice–just not quite together. From the spook I gather he’s backed off some, you just can’t tell most of the time.

To me it looked like he started off nursing along a horse who was contemplating leaving through the window, and in so doing got him to settle. I didn’t see Voice thinking so hard about wanting to go get his security blanket but you’re right that it may have been a similar ride.
Commentators on my end say he’s in 5th, with GBR in 3rd.

Look at the percentages. It’s super tight in that range of scores.

It looked to me like Barney stepped on the cheap-a$$ arena boards and the cracking noise spooked him.
But “Grandad” made the best of it, as usual.

Hm. I think Carl was a bit overscored. SUPER impressed with the Danish ride. I’m glad she did a bit better than him. That was a lovely, relaxed, forward ride.
Steffen Peters is up next after the Austrian in the ring!
Sounds like a bit of the halo effect, but not really super bad. The scores aren’t crazy high. There are a lot clustered very closely together this time around.
