I was surprised to find that bulky, pimply rubber reins worked best for me to maintain rein length. I have stubby, chubby little hands and I thought I would prefer something thinner, but it turned out just the opposite!
I prefer narrow, smooth leather reins. That makes my gloves all the more important. I find that MacWets have the best grip without adding any bulk.
