I found out that my two year old thoroughbred colt has Hampton at least 622 times in his pedigree.

Bay Ronald he has “only” about 132 times.
622 times I find is an awful lot of times or is it quite common for a 2012 model?

I doubt if it is very unusual. Hampton’s daughter Maid Marian was the dam of Polymelus, sire of Phalaris. In the US, Mahubah, dam of MOW and others, had a Hampton son as damsire. Another Hampton son, Bonnie Scotland, was the damsire of Hanover, and his lines returned to Europe around the turn of the twentieth century through daughters. Bonnie Scotland is also in Lady Josephine. Persimmon’s dam was a Hampton daughter. Robert Le Diable was Malva’s damsire, and she was Blenheim’s dam. Then you have Bay Ronald. Ayrshire and Ladas are sons, and IIRC their lines are found in Germany and the US as well as in the UK/Ireland. In fact, the Germans seem to have used Hampton blood as part of their importing strategy.
Phalaris is pretty common these days. I would guess that Hampton is far more prevalent today in US lines than non-German European ones, given how many of his descendants were exported here and produced the best of the best.
Given the number of good breeding daughters that went with his great sons and grandsons, I’d guess that by now Hampton would be almost as ubiquitous as St. Simon.
I once believed that it was impossible to have the jump genes in TBs without Hampton. Now I’m just not sure.
I knew that there is a lot of St Simon, Hermit and Newminster in the TB breed but I did not know that Hampton is also to be found so often.

Yes, Hampton is about everywhere!!
