Separately, I’ll chime in on ulcer. The chiropractic ulcer points are interesting, but imho, not super useful. Mine was negative on all ulcer points the same day the scope showed level 4 actively bleeding ulcers.
Generally speaking, I’m against treating without scoping because I don’t believe that omeprazole is without side effects - I think it can make hind gut ulcers worse. I also know that different kinds of stomach ulcers need different treatment, and different follow-up schedules.
That said, I’d understand if you didn’t want to scope your retiree without trying treatment first. There is lots of info on the Nexium thread about a lower cost option to try treatment.
