Help Me Figure out how to Ride my Horse Down the Aisle

Thank you. He is quite lovely, I knew not to attempt this unless I had complete trust and faith that my horse could handle it. He totally did, and loved it! It was a dream wedding come true!

I have friends who met at the barn (bride was the groom’s trainer) and they rode a pair of matching Saddlebreds down the aisle. The bride rode aside. They had the ceremony in the indoor with the BO officiating. It was December 7th (I’ll never forget) and so the congregation was asked to dress in Hawaiian attire in observance of Pearl Harbor Day. Yeah, we froze our butts off, but they had an open bar for the reception and we “warmed up” pretty fast. A few friends and I went up and down the barn aisles checking to see which horses would eat wedding cake. (Pretty much all of them if memory serves…)

May I just say that you were a BEAUTIFUL bride! Your husband looks so happy - you guys are just beaming. What a beautiful couple and he’s a keeper! He supports your horse addiction. I love him too! <3

Thank you! I’m very lucky he accepts my OTTB as one of the “kids” (in addition to the two dogs and the cat. heh)

My parent’s got married on horseback. My mom actually rented a side saddle. Both of their horses were also white so it was cute. I didn’t hear of anything going wrong at all, but could definitely imagine things exploding. Both horses were just amazing in general from what I was told so I think it will take a really good horse. They parked their horses facing opposite directions during the vows and the rest is story book history.

Perfect! Congratulations
