Help me pick from my top 3 bridles (Schockemohle, Solo Equine, Bridle2Fit)

I have three friends with Solo bridles. I love th way they look and you simply can’t beat the quality for that price. To me it’s a no brainer. I spent a bloody fortune on a gorgeous PS of Sweden bridle and my horse found it painfully uncomfortable for some reason, although it looked fine. High price does not always = better. Personally I will be ordering a Solo for myself tomorrow with the Black Friday sale

That is great to hear! I’ve been really leaning towards the solo bridle and think I’m going to take a chance on it.

It would be a great-looking bridle with a browband to match the cavesson.

The Solo Swerve seems to fit nicely. The crown is not as extreme as the PS of Sweden, but is a little more cut back than my Jerry’s bridle. I like the mono crown without the separate caveson.

FYI - Solo posted on FB that Black Friday is 30% off everything on the website, if that influences your decision

Actually that definitely did lol. I stayed up until midnight so I could ensure the bridle I wanted didn’t go out of stock.

Thanks everyone! I decided to get the SoloEquine bridle. The owner has spent a lot of time answering my questions and has been so nice and helpful, I decided to support s small business.

I ended up getting one today as well! A third one. So it can hang in my tack closet in its black patent splendor until my 6 month old Barock Pinto grows up. The black and white ones look great on his mom and should look great on his aunt when she arrives.

YAY! So glad I found this thread - I wanted a new bridle (an upgrade from the one my new horse came with) and I just ordered one for her from Solo! Seems like it’s a great deal (the shipping was $$ coming from up north) but the bridle in USD was downright cheap

Me too. Neither of my horses could go in the PS crown. The ear contours are not large enough.
as long as it’s a comfort crown I think the horses are comfortable.

Just a little update - I got my new bridle and I have to say, the leather is incredibly nice! Buttery soft out of the bag and it fits my large-ish headed mare perfectly. I’m not in love with the reins so I ordered some different ones from somewhere else(the ones that came with it are plain, no stops and sort of a little rough but not grippy on the inside - I need the stops as I tend to lose my reins as I go and that helps minimize it). Overall, for the price even with shipping I’m really happy with my new Solo bridle!

@reefy! I came across this thread as I am looking for a bridle and strongly considering the Solo. Since it looks like you’ve had it for a few months now, do you still like it? How has it held up? My trainer just got one for her horse a couple days ago and it is really nice. I bought the Schockemohle Equitus Alpha bridle but it does not fit my horse (the full-size is too big even though the measurements are correct, and the cob is too small) so I will have to return it. I’m looking at the Solo Splendor. Which one did you get?

I have the Solo Splendour and I ADORE it! I also have the Solo Senterline double and I adore it too  And now they have a bunch of new styles on line just released this spring, including a black and brown one that I’m coveting. But I REALLY don’t need three bridles for one horse.

If you are thinking of the Splendour just be aware the noseband is VERY wide, 5cm I think. It’s looks fabulous on my 17.2 hand beast but might be overwhelming on a daintier head. If you want to see pics there’s a bunch on my Insta @dressageaddict.ca

The leather is very nice and supple right out of the box. The crown piece is nicely padded, anatomically shaped and super soft. They really look and feel like bridles that cost twice as much. I’ve had the snaffle for a couple of months now and it looks brand new after being used 5x/week, just a little softer than when I first got it.

@renataanna - I got the Solo Serene non-patent bridle. It’s butter soft and fits my mare’s head very nicely. The only change I made was to swap out the brow band with one I got for a gift (it’s beautiful). Honestly, the leather is so nice and I like the crown piece as it’s got very soft edging on it with cutouts around the ears. I don’t know if they have that model anymore but the nose piece on the Serene is not overly wide(though my girl has a largish head so it would probably still look okay, lol). Oh, and I swapped out the reins as they had no grips on them (and I need them as I have a problem with sliding reins). It’s gotten softer and a nicer feel in the time I’ve used it!

I would like to get another one (if there’s another awesome black Friday sale!) for my gelding because his bridle is very old and the leather is no where near as nice as this one!

@renataanna - I also still love my Solo bridle and am super happy with it. It looks way better than some of the $500 bridles that are widely known. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another at full price.
