It’s not uncommon for weanlings to develop ulcers. Agree with others I’d not put him through scoping and fasting but just treat as if he has ulcers- gastrogard or ulcergard if can’t get script- same thing just use whole dose rather than 1/4 dose.

GastroGard is dosed by weight. A treatment dose is the actual dose by weight and a preventative dose (ie: UlcerGard) is 1/4 of that. You might get 2-3 doses per tube for a foal that age. For prevention a tube will probably last over a week. Much cheaper to treat foals than adults.
yes should have said whole dose rather than whole tube.- meant to say ulcergard is the same as ggard- but dosed at one quarter. You can use ulcergard dosed the same as ggard.- depending on weight of course -but instead of one quarter dose, use whole dose as with ggard. I’ve used ulcergard this way- because don’t need script for it.
