Help! My show clothes are old enough to vote and buy liquor!

Since I am a shopper (friends say I am good for the economy) I will enable you just a bit… I agree with the RJ coats are nicely cut and reasonably priced. I would get one in navy.

CO helmets are beautiful and many people still wear them. I look at helmets as an investment. I ride in my show helmet and boots. If I didn’t I don’t think I would ever get to use them. So maybe the place to splurge on what you really want and fits nice on your head is a helmet. Certain helmets don’t fit me very well - I cannot wear GPAs and most of the Samshields don’t fit me. I did end up buying a Samshield because I liked the replaceable liner… it has been putting pressure on my forehead and I am thinking to go try another liner… nice option. (I just read you ordered the CO - good choice!! I really love mine)

If you already have beige breeches and a white ratcatcher then your all set.

You did say it’s a schooling show so you will be fine.

I have riding clothes too that should be collecting Social Security… I do try to wear them at times but you know, they just are not cut as well and not as comfortable as what is available today.

So get comfy and have fun!!!

I just logged in so I could say, to each and every one of you still wearing your wool jackets and old-enough-to-drink shirts, boots and breeches, I love you. I love you all.

I’m still showing in my Dehner pull on boots from 1986. They fit, they clean up well, AND George specifically called me out praising me that I’m a traditionalist with pull on correctly fitting boots at a clinic last year!

If the day ever comes when you decide to retire them, they should get a place of honor on display with a plaque just for that!

I forget where you are in MD, but Maryland Saddlery will take your coats and probably the breeches. They won’t take the shirts, which is a pity because the snap collars are so goofy to me. Why do they button in the middle of your neck?? I’ll be in ratcatchers forever, unless I’m hunting and thus forced into a stock tie.
