AND if he was passed up as a showjumper by some professionals is not because he was not talented… he was and A LOT. But because of his size (and the prized asked of course) they were not sure he would be able to be more than a 1.45 jumper. I am sure if he had been less expansive a lot of professional would have grabbed him fast.

This is true. Nick Skelton has very specifically stated he tried the horse as a 7-year-old. He knew he was an exceptional horse, but was concerned about his size. Others were concerned about his fiery energy which made him a little difficult to ride in the beginning. Even Eric said in the beginning he wasn’t sure he could manage the horse’s enthusiasm and keep him contained. With Eric, the 2 just matched with each other like peaches and ice cream.

Which goes to show, it’s not only the horse, but the right rider.
