I’m so late to see this! But I have hip pain that has been helped tremendously (if not fixed) by stretching. Here are the stretches I do (I’ve added some, this is an oldish blog post):

We’re in Central Florida – my husband got a surgery date for hip replacement about 7 weeks after final discussion with orthopedic surgeon recommending surgery. And the wait was only due to the fact that he’d had a steroid injection previously and they require 3 months wait after injection to do the surgery.
