It does take a bit of time and lots of work to get range of motion back. There was some loss due to the surgery, but I also felt there was a good bit from protecting the joint from pain for about a year before I decided to do the surgery.
I also asked for an additional round of PT just after I was released from precautions at three months, just to work on the ROM. My Dr said no problem–I swear I had the BEST surgeon ever for this, I was SOOOO lucky!!
