FWIW, a ring in the poll piece of the halter+attaching that ring to a HiTie+ a horse that sits back and wants to get loose from that contraption= a loose, unhaltered horse.
You might be better off with a true horse collar instead.

I get my trailer back this weekend (with HiTie installed) and plan to put many hours on it before trying it in ‘public’
I’ve got a collar and you are right it would work even better than a halter -love it.
