Yes, I hope the Dex put what ever was causing the itching goes in to remission.

Hopefully the allergy serum helps your horse. Maybe your vet can offer suggestions for something you can add to his feed to help the immune system.

I don’t know about you, but I felt so helpless as I watched my mare insistently scratch and nothing I did helped.

Update - Dune has been on allergy shots for over a month now. He breaks out in hives every time he gets a shot and has to be treated with Dex, but with every shot he seems to have fewer hives and does not need as much dex to bring them under control. I am very hopeful that by spring he will be much better and perhaps a monthly shot of dex will keep everything quiet. Thank you to all who offered advice and sympathy.
