Holiday PSA: your trainer already has 10,000 horse-related gifts

My farrier is pregnant with her first child, so I have had to strongly resist the urge to go all baby crazy. I’m still not sure I’m going to resist. Do not be alarmed. I know her pretty well, and will try to exercise discretion.

My barn friends and I still do exploit the horse theme, but usually in T-shirts or sweatshirts. I really could not have enough of those, and in the occasional instance where our tastes diverge, there’s really nothing too tacky to muck stalls in!

Well, I guess I’m different.
I had a photographer come to the barn to take family pictures of my trainer/BO and her husband and 2 children. They are so very busy that it’s next to impossible for them to get something like this done. Now they have lots of photographs to enjoy. A Christmas present her whole family has and will continue to enjoy over the years.

I always tried to coordinate with the other clients at the barn and get everyone to pitch in cash - one year we were able to get a sizeable amount for my trainer’s custom saddle suit - she was sooo happy!

I would far rather have homemade cookies than a gift card, particularly from Wally World.[/QUOTE]

I’m with Ghazzu. I don’t have time to bake/cook etc. Homemade baked good from clients are greatly appreciated. Or coffee. We drink lots of coffee in the office (small animal GP) and try to keep a fresh pot on to share with folks.

How about gift certificates for invoicing services?

I know it’s a chore most trainers dread…
