HOLY GAS, DOG!

I have an Irish Wolfhound, adopted at an older age, and she can’t tolerate a lot of foods. Lots of IWs are the same, I guess, but her symptoms sounded like your pup’s. Have had her on Dick Van Patten’s Natural Choice, and now on Tractor Supply’s 4Health. Although I’d normally say follow your breeder’s recommendations for your dog, if this keeps up, it may be the new food. Believe with my girl, it’s best to avoid those foods with wheat up front.

Chicken/rice is a typical solution for the runs, but you’ll know if it’s the food when you add it back. And your dog may be allergic/sensitive to even some of the most expensive foods - it’s the ingredients you may have to keep an eye out for.

one big reason why most people feed twice a day is to reduce the risk of bloat- if you’re feeding dry kibble, you’ve already elevated that risk, and if you feed one very large meal of dry kibble, the risk of bloat skyrockets. Simply splitting the amount fed into two meals cuts the risk back down. Of course if you don’t feed bowls of nothing but dry kibble in the first place, your risk is dramatically reduced- simply putting a few table scraps or some canned food in with the kibble is protective against bloat. This is not such a big concern with small dogs, but even small dogs can and do bloat.
Note that many miniature schnauzers are affected by hyperlipidemia and thus they should be fed fairly low-fat diets.

Normal poop today!!! Yea!!!

My pups had TERRIBLE gas with BB, enough that we started joking that they were self propelled. I switched them to Science Diet, and voila, no more afterburners.
