I feel ya. My day to day drive is a kia niro hybrid, a spunky little 1.6L that dares to put a “sport” mode n on the gear shift, and even though that idea is laughable I still love every minute of its 53 mi per gallon… BUT when I drive the F-250, especially if I haven’t been hauling for a while, I almost lose control of the damn thing at every stoplight when it turns green, because inevitably I hit the gas like it’s a spunky 1.6 l engine… And it is not! And the weight is very definitely a different distribution than the kia.
Last winter we parked it on grass and the grass froze, then thawed. The rear wheels sank 3 inches into depressions. We had to tie it to the run in shed it was parked in front of then I rocked it back and forth while my husband stood in front of it and tightened the ratchet straps until it got far out of the depression that we got it out. Weight in the bed is a great idea, but kind of gets in the way of your gooseneck
Not upset, just don’t misleading and incorrect information. A lifetime of ranching and farming and 30 years making a living dealing with and maintaining trucks.
My 175k mile diesel F250 Superduty 7.3L (the ‘good’ engine) 2003 is dead on the driveway right now. It just had to work toooo hard since i started hauling into weekly dressage lessons the past few years. One day, when stepping on the gas to get up the very first hill on our driveway, when i asked for MORE, it gave LESS! Taking it to auction once i clean it up. We replaced it with a 2019 F250 superduty diesel 6.8L but bigger heavier and barely registers it’s hauling 15k pounds on a bumper pull going UP our horrendously hilly gravel driveway. Can’t tell you how relieved i am to be driving an adequate truck in front of my heavy load now.
