I have an 18H QH. He’s pretty much retired but has many rub marks on the side he sleeps on. It’s getting pretty bad. He has the best bedding so I’m at a lost on how to stop this. Silver coat isn’t helping and have tried everything on the market. Any suggestions would be great!
Does he have good mats under his bedding? This made all the difference for my horse who had hock sores. We discovered he was in a stall without cushioned mats, only drainage mats. Once mats were put in, his sores went away.
What type of mats did you put down?
where are the rubs? Hip, hock, barrel, shoulder, butt?
What is the bedding, and how deep?
All on the left side. He lays on that side. Some on the side of stifle, Side of hock, hip. Bedding is super thick
