Horse Suddenly a maniac... any ideas?

I think my argument is with the vet who pushed back on the idea of testing for Lyme. And even kissing spines. It probably cost you a bunch of money and money is scarce. I get it- I don’t have a ton of it lying around either.

BUT…
You did ask for help. And your horse’s symptoms sound like certain issues that are very common in your region and to TBs. We were just trying to save you time and money. Trying a bunch of other things that seem less likely didn’t really make sense to some of us who have had TBs with exactly the same symptoms. So that’s where we are. Without testing for the most likely options, we can’t really help you.

Wait, I can tell you that a box of Nexium costs $23 and the CVS generic esomeprazole costs $21, so you can do a couple of days trial in case ulcers are part of the behavior issue. So that is something easy and cheap to test.

Nobody’s dumping on you, I promise. I know in my case I have had the same symptoms in my TB and they were erased when we treated for Lyme and ulcers.

Good luck!

thank you! I do appreciate it, it’s just disconcerting when I take ideas to the vet and said vet doesn’t see symptoms matching those options. I wasn’t referring to you at all, but I thank you for your input!
