Here is a fun fact: I own a pinto (see avatar). When he is in the sun, his brown parts (which absorb heat) are noticeably warmer that his white parts (which reflect heat). You can actually feel the difference when you touch his coat. I can’t figure out any use for this fact, but find it interesting.

I had a Friesian, who of course soaked up all the sun. She eventually stopped sweating entirely, so to try to keep her cool, I got her one of those white sun sheets. It did help keep her cool, but it had a navy surcingle belly strap. If you put your hand under the sun sheet, her coat was cool, except for the strip under the navy surcingle!
