Personally I live in the heart of Amish country (in Ontario, Canada) so I very often see some cute DHHs for sale. The Amish around here also aren’t great at advertising so if you know where to look you can often scoop something up fairly easily. My guess is there are more people like me (who live in the right area) and they are the ones picking up these horses and putting them in the HJ market.
I use an Amish tack repair, his speciality is harness work. I take my bridles to him. There is an area in the store where sellers, breeders, etc advertise. The board is covered in stallion flyers. If you’re ever in Amish country check the tack shops.
