@Scribbler, if you want to take a look at the x rays I am happy to send them. I have spent over a year piecing together this horse’s history because we don’t have toe luxury of talking to the old owner. I talked to the old track trainer/owner who is highly regarded, even sending my trainer after him for MORE evidence that he did not cause the injury. According to HIM, she was 100% right as rain and simply “didn’t want to race anymore.” Codeword for something? Not sure. I’m going to take his word that he did the right thing. Horse sent to off the track trainer. Stayed there for a few months. Bought by a barrel racer. Raced for a few months then thrown into pasture. Left and neglected, I bought her. She was 2 years off the track when I got her and the last owner had her a year. So the timeline I can see is that she left the track late 2014, sent to trainers, bought mid 2015, sold to me mid 2016.
I agree with you 100%. You should tell the first vet that because she was the only nonbeliever of the bunch. Then again she had a high amount of prejudice AGAINST thoroughbreds and catered to very, very wealthy clients. We were misrepresented as wealthy I suppose. That’s a story for another day. I am happy to talk to about this more, since you seem extremely interested, over PM if that suits you.
@danacat - She’s shod on all four so not sure there’s a possibility of her wearing her hooves down. I think at this point that’s kind of where we are… just… managing.
