This thread is almost two years old. (Not a complaint, just a heads up to the readers.)
I didn’t show a whole lot last year (8 shows maybe??), but I show on our A circuit and my show bills for last year included:
Trailering (away and local A shows) - $2895
Coaching at shows - $950
Braiding - $1020 (sometimes mane, sometimes mane/tail)
Class fees (hunters) - $2720
Stalls (some were day shows) - $460
Stall splits - $372 (grooming x 2 and barn show off stall x 1 at one show)
Splits for coaching - $920
Shoeing at shows - $485
Golf cart rental split (3 shows) - $230
2 Training shows (total costs for those incl. trailering) - $390
Grand Total for 2017 - $10,442
The trailering costs seem so high! And I only showed one of my guys last year! This year, the older gelding is leased to someone who will be showing him.
If I had to add up the other costs associated with owning and operating 2 horses last year, I would probably keel over and faint. This total is bad enough!!
