How to make a mane presentable at show when they have a rubbed off spot?

My mare has a very thin spot from her blanket neck and my plan is to make falsies out of yarn. I already need to add extra yarn to that spot normally so this year it’s going to be more yarn than hair. As long as you match yarn to mane color no one can really tell. I particularly like chenille for this kind of fake spots since it really grabs onto the mane.

For a schooling show I’d just make the rest really tidy and carry on.

I have no advice for you but I love the look on your horse’s face. He is a handsome boy.

Throwing out a modified version of roach if as an option - my gelding has a thin mane to begin with, and tends to rub off a spot in the middle. Last year I gave him a Mohawk. It was a little less than two inches long and stood up on its own. It actually looked really cute. No blunt ends. More like softly feathered. The bald spot just blended in.
