Hunter in hand classes

Thank you. He is a good boy. I am having such a fun time owning him. He’s at the trainers and they are doing a SMASHING job with him. My only complaint is that it’s FAR and I miss seeing him every day and having him “home.” Soon enough.

Ironically when I was shopping for him I actually was TRYING to buy an APHA or AQHA. As I have tried the last THREE TIMES and failed utterly each time. So I bought a WB with sufficient white that HAD he been a QH or TB he’d have been an APHA. Getting CLOSER… right? LOL.

One thing that makes me crazy is when people line the horses up too close together head to tail.

First of all, it’s a great way to have a horse get kicked, especially with youngsters who might be inclined to act up a bit.

Second of all, the judge needs to have room to walk in between every entry and stand back far enough to get a good look at their legs from the front and the back.

So please be sure to leave plenty of room in between the entries for the safety of both the horses and the judge.

Thanks all for the advice! Horse is a 7yo OTTB so he’s not a baby (still can act like one), but this is new to him and me. Trainer says there is no triangle, just out & back. We are going to practice this weekend and work on squaring up his favorite resting toe.

Well, you could always register him pinto and do the hunter type division. The Pinto World show is in June at Tulsa, and they give great awards. Just sayin’.
