Hunter/Jumper barns near Charleston, WV?

Relocating to Charleston, WV and need to find a new hunter/jumper barn.
Any recommendations?

Found a post back from 2015 that didn’t have good news… said there was not much here.
Hoping things may have changes in 4 years

Thanks in advance for any replies!

No advice on barns, but good news is it’s only 3h from Lexington! Definitely within showing distance, or a fun day trip.

I used to live in charleston and the only facilities we could find were saddleseat. The closet place i can think of finding a hunter/junper facility is Lewisburg or Beckley area.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but WV as a whole is pretty abysmal as far as equine facilities go, and even worse so for hunter/jumper barns. I’m from the eastern panhandle, and I went to WVU and I can only imagine that southern WV is even worse for the horse scene. If you do find something, I encourage you to share it here so that others will know!

Head in to VA. Tony Workman was previously in Hillsboro and you are easy to Round Hill and Purcellville.

West Virginia is literally the worst. I live in Beckley, West Virginia. In the Charleston vicinity, you might check out Kayla Bird. She’s an eventer in the Huntington area. There is not a hunter/jumper barn per se in Beckley. My wife and I board our horses with a few other sport horse-minded people just outside of Beckley and we have couple trainers come in for lessons on a month or bimonthly basis. In Charleston you will find the majority of barns are saddle seat and western focused. Good luck with your relocation.
