Actually Area 1 is New England - doubtful that much is happening until April! You can go online to the USEA web site to look at the Omnibus, and I am sure your rulebook is not too far out, since I just got mine last week.

Harmony Farm- Reason for my sponsor ships to help me pay for some of the events and stuff. Cause i’m 18 and pay for everything for my horse and me by myself and it’s hard to pay for the rated events. I’m not asking you to believe me or not cause h*ll i don’t care…
I think the point Harmony is trying to make is that:
(a) most competent upper-level (prelim riders and up) competitors have a hard time getting sponsership, even the successful ones
and
(b) much less a rider who has never competed in a rated event. And never competed about prelim. Not saying it’s not possible, it’s just weird.
I think everyone on this forum is well aware of the benefits of sponsers. You can check your attitude at the door - there are LOTS of experienced riders and competitors on these boards who have loads more experience than you. It just sounds like an odd situation, forgive some people for looking askance at it. The fact that you’re acting like you’re the center of the universe & expecting everything to be done on YOUR time so you can do whatever YOU need to do - forget the fact that the weather has been miserable & the USEA has THOUSANDS of others to worry about in addition to you - yeah, it’s going to make people a little cranky.

Get a grip, sweetheart. I hope that your sponsers know where a bad attitude gets you in teh horse world. I’d guess that if they knew that a bad attitude will keep you at the bottom of the rung, they wouldn’t be “sponsering” you.

Sponsorships pursuant to AHTF involve reimbursement for costs, not payments for riding. The rider must send in costs and expense reports to AHTF in order to receive reimbursement. I don’t think this would implicate amateur status, because it’d be no different than having an owner or friend pay the entry fees or a vet bill for an amateur.
That being said, I finally realize what I’ve been doing wrong in trying to get sponsor help! I’ve clearly utterly failed to photocopy my armband or the omnibus and send along in the packets. Who needs glossy photographs and competition results when you have an armband?
Though, in all fairness, we might all ease off some. This is likely a kid who has a friend or parent who is helping her out but who wants to help plan out her season but doesn’t know how to find things on-line. Luckily, for those who are arrogant, this sport has a wonderful way of quickly providing humility. And if not, there’s always the organizer who can set the 7am dressage time…
whw - grow up. You came here and opened yourself up. Just happens that no one agrees wtih you. Wouldn’t want to be “up in your business”. Wouldn’t want you in my barn. Sure wouldn’t sponsor you.
