Today i went to check my mail, and i got the remaining items that i didn’t get in the packet. That was fast. Thanks USEA!! 
So let me get this straight; What I have learned so far from this thread is that you do Training level, you have never done a rated event and you have a “Sponser”. How did you pull that off? Most Prelim. and Intermediate people don’t have sponsers, let alone a Training level rider who has never done a rated event. I have a hard time believing this, that’s all.

Awww… should we throw a pity party now? Do you know how many people I know in your situtation? Now guess how many of them have WAAAAY better attitudes about it than you. Nothing in life is free, sweetie, and at 18 years old, it’s time you grew up and realized that as much as your ego may think it, you are not the center of the universe. Oh, and couple more bits of free advice –
– understand that bashing people that you expect to help you won’t get your ANYWHERE, especially when you’re new to the organization.
– If you are truly looking at getting sponsors, grab a dictionary and learn to spell the word correctly.
– realize now that while eventing may be growing, it’s still a very small “family”. Attitudes like this will haunt you for a long time to come… you never know what official/trainer/office personnel are lurking on this board, and I would think with what you’ve shown here, you’re going to have a tough time “hiding it” the first time something isn’t perfect at an event. People talk, especially horse people and more than than, especially when we consider those in our sport part of our family – you can’t go around bashing our family for no reason and not get a reputation that WILL follow you.

oh, you PEOPLE!!! Now I have gone and done it. It’s a snow day today, so I just went and bashed some penguins. 566.9 on my first 5 minutes attempts. I promise to improve. The sliders seem to go the farthest.
See…this is why I event–the HJ and dressage folks would think he wasn’t dressed properly and the form was all wrong. I say have a beer (or some coffee) and bash the crap out of him.

Hey. I got all my membership stuff in the mail this week. I never even had to call the USEA office and scream and whine and bitch on public forums to do it either! I even have time to send in my entry for an April horse trial on opening day! How inCREDible.

ummm…I’m going to break your “don’t post anything rule”, but you’ll live!!! and remember, this is just my opinion and you don’t have to like it if you don’t want to. As a matter of fact, I know you’re not going to like it, but oh well

If you (notice the correct spelling of the word) didn’t want people “up in your (notice the correct spelling again) business” then why did you post all the info?
Also, when you decided that you were going to start bashing the USEA for being a little slow how did you expect us all to react?? Did you expect us all to join your side and be all like “yeah, we hate the USEA. Those stupid people can’t do anything right, or on time for that matter!! Don’t they know we have to send sponsorship packets out???” Well if you did, then you were WAY wrong, b/c we know that in order for everyone to be taken care of in the best way possible in the long run some things might not be perfect right this moment (and this goes for many more things in the world than just in the horse world). So get over it and chill out!!

Sorry Harmony Farm but…i need my stuff now so i can do my sponsor stuff and get that ready before march comes and it’s already almost Feb and it takes over a month to get my stuff from there. So i don’t need to chill!!

OK, I know the weather STINKS. Believe me, watching 1500 lbs of horse slide towards me, slowly, but inexorably, while standing completely still, really brings it home…
but are we maybe all (and I’m including the original poster, who’s gotten a well-deserved smackdown) suffering from a little teeny bit of cabin fever???
Points made. As Spots said, humility comes to all of us, often in the form of muddy water (or that 1500 lbs of sliding horse).
Let’s call it a day and start thinking about spring hacks, trot sets in T shirts, and complaining about why the organizer hasn’t waived the jacket rule yet…
When I first joined USEA I did not get my packet in time to send entries for my first rec. show. Someone in the membership department emailed me my numbers and as for my horse I wrote “applied for” in the number blanks and they accepted it just fine. All I had to do was present the printed emails from USEA with the numbers on them at check in to prove that I really am a member.

I imagine area 1 is in the west since I’m in area 8 and it’s in the eastern half and COLD!! Since you’re probably in a warmer climate AND are able to compete now in Jan, just contact the USEA and see how you can fill out whatever entry you need to send off now (I imagine this is why you’re upset) since they made the “oops!”.
The organizer can check that you are a member and just haven’t gotten everything, and can make some special arrangements…most secretaries aren’t fire-breathing dragons! 
You’re welcome Gry… I try not to use the spelling/grammar nazi thing too much, but considering how WHW was acting, I thought it was pretty appropriate.
Also, FYI, there’s no way this kid is AHTF eligible. AHTF qualification is based on level ridden… for Young riders it’s Prelim horse trial (unfortunately for me, it’s CCI* - completed that is). And no, being registered with AHTF does not automatically discount ammy status (at least not last I checked).
