I can't take the humidity and mosquitoes anymore; California?

Bear Valley Springs is still happening… I bought a retirement home up there that I’ll rent out until I get there. There are about 800 horses in the valley, along with a 40 acre equestrian center and 5 or 6 different horse clubs including a chapter of California Dressage Federation, a Pony Club chapter, some western/recreation/trail clubs and a driving club.

Nearby town is Tehachapi, which now has a Home Depot and a Tractor Supply. Bakersfield is about an hour away and then LA is the other way and you can find everything… it’s worth a look, interesting place.

Best thing is Bear Valley Springs is very inexpensive compared to LA, yet only two hours or so from LAX. 4-5000 feet elevation so four seasons. Gated community with nice amenities although it is 50 years old and a bit tired in some ways… but nice people and good maintenance. HOA fees are crazy cheap at $1600 a year. Best of all the equestrian community seems to be growing, not shrinking, there.

Thank you so much, MM. Bear Valley Springs does seem to offer some advantages.

%$#@$#***!!! I can’t believe I could end up moving back to that part of the country. I tell you, Karma has a very sick sense of humor.
