PHEW! We were on pins and needles having done similar and even long drives over the years. So glad everyone is safe and sound. She certainly is in good hands. Hug her for us! and THANK YOU!
Yay! Glad she made it (and yikes, glad you guys didn’t get blown away in that crazy weather!). Can’t wait to see more pictures!!!
(and I creeped her daddy’s page, and he looks even more like my guy! Jeebus, the resemblance is uncanny)

OMG, I’m exhausted! I decided for a couple reasons to not have the hauler pick up pony and bring her to me, so Mr. PoPo and I just got home from going to get her ourselves…from NorCal to Phoenix…leaving yesterday morning and getting home just tonight. We got maybe three hours sleep last night, as we wanted to get on the road by 4 a.m. to beat the heat (which turned out to not be a problem) and experienced rain/thunder/lighting storm in AZ (and 8 people were killed by lightning in Santa Monica today!), a dust storm in the CA desert, the dreaded grapevine, and the long and boring drive through the central valley.
This morning in the dark was the first time I laid eyes on her, and she is a NICE mare. Wow, I’m one lucky girl! She was appropriately cautious about getting on my trailer while her friends were whinnying for her, but a couple carrots and some patience and she walked on without incident (always forward, even if just a step or a lean, good girl!). A couple minutes of pawing, and then she settled down and was quiet the whole trip.
We stopped many times to check on her and offer her water and she was so polite and interested in us, and one lady at the gas station even came over to say hello and pony was very friendly. I think the dust storm made her eyes a bit watery, but no bother. I came out from getting lunch and caught Mr. PoPo gently giving her a sponge bath on her face, which she seemed to love. He, I think, is smitten with this lovely little mare. Whenever we stopped we’d offer her water, I’d go in to the gas station to pee, and come out to find Mr. PoPo fussing over her.
When we got home she politely backed off the trailer (she had been on short trailer rides at home, but nothing like an 800+ mile trip!) nickered at the boys, went into her separate paddock and had a good pee, poop, and lots of water. The boys seemed interested and I thought “uh-oh, here we go” - but as soon as they heard me preparing their dinner they lost their interest in her and I put them in their stall/paddocks and went to get pony and bring her up to her stall/paddock (which is across the aisle from theirs - I’ll keep them separated for a couple weeks to make sure she doesn’t have a cold or anything). She got a nice hay pellet mash with electrolytes, some fresh water, some hay, and a kiss good night.
Since it was dark when I got home, I’ll get lots of pictures tomorrow!!![/QUOTE]
How wonderful!
Looks like she has it made with all of you.
Exvet is going to be so very proud of her and of you!
Hope you will get some more pictures so we can enjoy her right along with you.
Lovely Lovely mare ~ Be proud !

Lovely Lovely mare !!!
Be Proud ! [/B]
Got a good morning whinny this morning when I went out to feed breakfast! Looks like no mischief was gotten into overnight that I could tell . . . except that when I left her last night she was eating out of her bucket in the barn and this morning it was thrown outside in her paddock!
We’re going to have to work on the fly mask and fly spray today because we’ve got lots of them.
Dressage, sure - but eventing, foxhunting, trail, showing, driving, the world is your oyster with a Welsh Cob.
While it is hard to part with out babies, the good home lets us enjoy them for years.

Lots of presence to that filly.
She is lovely and her trot…oh my! Now that you have whetted our appetite for updates about her, we WILL expect them!
I just updated my blog. Warning, I tend to be a bit wordy! Put a couple other pictures up - one from lunchtime today.
Foxtrot’s, I like to do everything, so she won’t just be “limited” to being a dressage pony! Her paddock has a raised patio, almost like a little up/down bank, which she’s already been up and down…
As of breakfast she didn’t really like our hay and hadn’t made a dent in her pile from last night. As of lunch, she decided it wasn’t so bad and so was snacking on it when I got back from work. I’ll do a little hay pellet mash plus hay for a while just to make sure she’s getting enough calories, and when she takes on more hay, I’ll back of the pellets. She already found the behind-the-ear scratching branch, and Mr. PoPo texted me at work to say she was rolling.
Oh, and here’s how cute Mr. PoPo is. When I came in from feeding breakfast, he said, “Did she ask about me?” I told him he could come up with her new nickname since she seems to be his special girl already! I thought of Dolly because, well, she looks like a doll to me. Mr. PoPo liked Dolly as in short for Dahlia. When she shows, she’ll of course go by her registered name!
She is lovely- feminine without being fragile looking! You done good.
