I’m feeling defeated and thinking it’s time to move

The same thing is going on here in the middle of nowhere. It’s everywhere. You’d be hard pressed to move and find somewhere this isn’t happening.

We get such letters weekly, also it is nearly impossible to cut the front yard without some one stopping to ask if we were thinking of selling … and we have had people going door to door asking

I’m in NoVa, I ended up buying a distressed farm in Jefferson Co. WV about 12 miles from the track. Couldn’t find anything worth the money in NoVa. I refuse to pay 1 mill + for less than 5 acres. So got a pretty nifty deal out there.

Its a bubble don’t worry, it will pop.

I’m considering doing something similar as well but I haven’t found anything out there. Even by Winchester housing seems really steep.
How do you like it so far?

I’m in Berryville by Winchester and have a friend looking in the area and there’s nothing on the market and houses are going for over listing prices. We got so lucky to buy in the area 2 years ago or there’s no way we could afford anything. WV is typically cheaper than VA so just keep looking

We purchased the home in November and are finally moving this weekend full time. So far we love it on the weekends, way friendlier than NoVa, better traffic, grocery store is a little farther, but way more family friendly. Downtown Charles Town is super cute and has some decent restaurants and a brewery. Lots of farmer stands and good country living things, but if you like city living chances are you won’t enjoy our area. Not a whole lot of plays, art exhibits, culture things, think 4-H, gardening, outside sports.

City living :joy: I have horses! My weekends are filled with arena dragging and horse shows

I’ll look into the area. The only experience I have with WVA is the area by the racetrack and I’m sure that’s not a great representation of the whole state

It has been a sellers market here for several years now unless you have a huge farm to sell, it can be on the market for a while.

Houses in town and places with 80 acres or less are hardly on the market before a sold sign is plastered on it. I have no doubt they are getting asking or above on the majority of places.
