Icing legs!

Curious at what the inside of the Jeffers look like.

Problem with buying online, most ice boots do not show a close up of the inside or if they are gel or hard looking. Really makes a difference on my purchase.

I really want the Ice Horse boots, I like the packs they have, so it takes up less space in the freezer and they seem to do the job. I want the Knee to Ankle boot though, I want the most coverage, and also the hoof boots. Were lacking in hoof boots for icing, which is a huge part of the body. No foot, no horse.[/QUOTE]

I had the ice horse boots too, unfortunately I felt that they did not get the back of the tendon when they were frozen. The shires inserts are the size of two of the ice horse packs combined. You can fold them and they are flexible. They separate from the boot with heavy duty velcro so you don’t have to freeze the bulkiest part (boot). They don’t slip and the boots hold up well.

I had the Finn style and they were so flipping bulky so I bought ice horse and then bought the Shires. I like the Shires the best out of all of them. They also seem to stay colder longer than the ice horse.

You are not supposed to use them when they are rock hard (means you need new inserts). I’ve not had the issue with mine. Also, the new ice boots, the inserts just Velcro in so it is pretty easy. My biggest issue with all these sort of convenient boots is they just do not get as cold as good old ice water.

I just can’t believe the cost of some of these ice boots. :frowning:

I would let them thaw and they still were hard and wouldn’t cover the areas I’d like. Any longer and they weren’t cold enough to even really use. Plus they never stayed cold for the 20 minutes. Weren’t worth it for me.

Most of mine stand in a muck bucket with ice/water or deal with Jacks boots but the few that don’t make life harder.

I have the tall Ice Horse boots (got for a steal on TOTD) and they work great. You have to “crush” the packs before you insert them so they’re more malleable and conform to the let.

My only gripe with them is that they leak gel/goo when they’re not frozen. :dead:
